Chicken Little strikes again PDF Print E-mail

In some ways writing these articles evokes the story of Chicken Little.  The fable has many interpretations depending on whether you are a "happy ending" person or not.  The politically themed moral of the story warns of those who jump to conclusions and then provoke the populace into seemingly mass hysteria.  The Clinton campaign has managed to convince many that having Obama as the Democratic nominee that a loss in November is all but assured.

Some may take offense to comparing Hillary with Chicken Little despite the resemblance to the Disney character.  What is challenging to dispute, however, is the incredible momentum carried by Obama into Tuesday's primaries and his overall lead in delegates, both pledged and so-called superdelegates.  Bolstered by the whopping (please note sarcasm) 21 delegates she managed to pick up on Obama from Puerto Rico, she still trails Barack 2,070 to 1,915 according to CNN.  That gap with be furthered widened when Obama wins Montana and South Dakota on Tuesday according to the latest polls.

Instead of gracefully capitulating, Hillary has taken every little acorn that has managed to drop on her head as an excuse to continue running around screaming the sky is falling.  Even when one of her most ardent supporters, Former Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack urging her to drop out, Hillary continues to fight her losing battle.

After Tuesday's contests, she needs to acknowledge that he's going to be the nominee and quickly get behind him. - Tom Vilsack

As Hillary's superdelegates continue to defect and more Democratic party leaders continue to ask for her to go aware gracefully, she apparently takes every opportunity to submarine Obama and ultimately the Democrats quest to win back the White House in November. Clinton claims Obama can't capture certain demographics and plays her own version of the race card.  She manipulates the claim to the popular vote and hope that superdelegates "change their minds".  The mighty Clinton political machine is showing it's age, starting to crack at the seams as more supporters seek to distance themselves.

The time has come for the American public to stand-up and exclaim loudly that the sky is not falling.
